Life in the wilderness is life in between salvation and consummation. It is life lived between Egypt and the Promised Land. This maps onto our own experience living between redemption from sin and entry into our heavenly Canaan. Life in the wilderness is, of course, not easy. It is full of trials. Israel's danger is also ours, that we might grumble along the way. This week's passage confronts our grumbling and points us to all we need in Christ.
